makes it easy to check scores .
Developer response
Thanks for the review! We’re glad LaneTalk makes it quick and easy to stay on top of the scores.
love being able to track my stats love this app.
Developer response
Thanks for the kind words, Robert! We’re glad LaneTalk helps you keep track of your stats and progress. Appreciate you using the app!
Basic scoring gone. Pay to play. Delete the app
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Nicholas. We understand the frustration with basic scoring moving to Pro. This change wasn’t made lightly, but was needed to keep LaneTalk reliable and sustainable long-term. We know this model won’t be right for everyone, and we appreciate you sharing your perspective.
I LOVE THE APP. I hate that they locked EVERYTHING under the paid version. so sad. it was great to give users a few games worth, live scores and then everything else was under paid version. so sad they did this.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing, Bryce. We’re really glad to hear you love the app. We understand it’s disappointing that personal game tracking moved to Pro. This wasn’t an easy decision, but it was necessary to keep LaneTalk reliable and sustainable long-term for the bowlers who use and value these features.
was a great app but now cant do anything without a subscription thanks but no thanks
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Corbin. We understand the change isn’t for everyone. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking and insights, which requires ongoing infrastructure and support. Subscriptions help keep those features available long-term for bowlers who value them.
I'm looking at all of the ratings. I understand that it takes time and manpower in order to keep stats, and link to lanes. I believe a lot of people don't understand that. If you bowling in leagues or tournaments, definitely get the pro! Right now my only concern is adding games on Summer Slam. Hopefully this will be resolved soon. .
Developer response
Thanks for the thoughtful and balanced review, Walter — we really appreciate it. Regarding adding games to “Summer Slam”, it’s a bit unclear what you’re referring to, and we’d be happy to take a closer look. Please reach out to [email protected] with a few more details and we’ll help you sort it out. We're always happy to help!
Was great before to keep track of my spare conversion manually. Company took the free manual tracking away because they're greedy like everyone else.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. This change wasn’t about greed, but sustainability. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time tracking, which requires ongoing infrastructure and support. To keep the platform running long-term, tracking your own games - manual or automatic - is now part of Pro. We understand this won’t suit everyone.
great App. I use it a couple of times of week, and I fully believe it has helped me get better
Developer response
Thanks for the great feedback! We’re really happy to hear the app has helped you improve, and we appreciate you using LaneTalk regularly.
its pay to play now. was best app on market, quickly to the worst. everyone spoke to says they uninstalled or flat out stopped using. its a shame, they had market cornered then drove everyone away.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing your feedback. We understand this change has been disappointing for many long-time users. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking, which comes with ongoing costs to operate and maintain. We know this model won’t be right for everyone, but it’s what allows the platform to continue long-term.
Downloaded it as a new bowler so I'm not fully committed to any kinds of pro packages. Log in screen won't even let you access the free features without signing up for the pro trial first, or if there is a way to get passed the pro sign up screen they're very good at hiding it. They don't want to help you. They just want your money. Immediate uninstall. No amount of PR or response from the company could even interest me in coming back. Utter failure and disgusting behavior.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. New users start with a free trial so they can experience all features before deciding. You can cancel anytime during the trial and continue as a free user without being charged. This setup helps us fairly show the app’s full value while keeping the platform sustainable, though we understand it won't fit everyone.
Paywall everything
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking and insights, which comes with ongoing costs to run and maintain. That’s why personal game tracking is now part of Pro. We understand this won’t be the right fit for everyone and appreciate you sharing your view.
love the tracking and friends connection of the app
Developer response
Thanks for sharing! It’s great to hear that the tracking and social side of the app add value to your bowling. We really appreciate you taking the time to leave a review.
only allows pro, at $7.99 per month. it's a rip-off.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. In addition to the monthly option, we also offer a yearly subscription from $39.99, which is a significantly lower monthly cost. Whether that value makes sense depends on how often you bowl and use the app, but we wanted to clarify the available options.
The UI appears to be busted. Tried creating a free account, but I can't do anything until I upgrade to the pro version. It looks like there should be a way to continue with the free version, but there's nothing to click on that let's me do that. I think it's being covered up by the box saying to upgrade to pro That means I can't do anything on the app unless I give them my credit card information. I think I'm alright.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. New users start with a Pro trial so they can experience the full app before deciding. After the trial ends, you can continue using LaneTalk as a free user. No charge is made if the trial is cancelled before trial end.
When this app first came out it was awesome as you could save your scores and review past games. After a year or so, nearly all of the features are now locked behind a pay wall. Our local bowling center has stopped suggesting this app due to the locked features. For pro level bowlers it would be great, but the average league bowler shouldn't waste their time.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing your perspective, Eric. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking and deeper insights, which require ongoing resources to maintain. We understand this may not be a fit for everyone, but for bowlers who value tracking their own progress over time, Pro helps keep those features available long-term.
doesn't even let me do anything without having to start a subscription
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. New users start with a free trial so they can experience all features before deciding. After that, you can continue using LaneTalk without subscribing to follow other bowlers - no charge at all if you cancel before trial end. Tracking your own games and stats is part of Pro to support the platform long-term.
Greatest app out there for tracking all your bowling stuff!!! Highly recommend it if you're competitive about bowling 🎳
Developer response
Thanks a lot for the kind words! We’re happy to hear LaneTalk is helping you stay competitive and get the most out of your bowling. 🎳
based app wa good and free but stopped working until I was forced to upgrade to pro and pay too much for options I don not use or need.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking and insights, which requires ongoing resources to run. That’s why personal game tracking is now part of Pro. We understand this model isn’t a fit for everyone and appreciate that you used the app when these features were free.
great when released, all features removed and it is now subscription based. if I could give 0 stars, I would.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing your feedback. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking and insights, which comes with ongoing costs to operate. To keep the platform sustainable long-term, personal game tracking moved to Pro. We understand this change isn’t right for everyone, but appreciate that you’ve used the app.
Everything is locked behind a paywall. the local centers didn't have live scoring so I couldn't use this app without paying 7.99 a month.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Cory. LaneTalk is primarily built around automatic, real-time score tracking from connected centers. We understand that if your local center isn’t integrated, using the app only for manual tracking may not feel worth the subscription cost. We appreciate you sharing your perspective.
its good for individual stats. I would like to see team stats and lane averages per bowler.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Robert! Glad to hear you’re finding the individual stats useful. Team stats and lane averages are actually areas we’re actively working on right now — we have new league features currently in beta that move in this direction, with a broader rollout within soon. Appreciate you sharing what you’d like to see next.
PinPal is a flat $9 once for anyone looking for an alternative to this. It allows you to track scores, leagues, balls, spare percentages, etc. without a monthly subscription. This app was good for a while but slowly took more and more away until everything was behind a paywall. I was a pro member for a bit but the prices are just way too high now to even consider it.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing your perspective. We understand why one-time purchase apps can be appealing. LaneTalk focuses on automated, real-time score tracking and deeper insights from lane systems, which are more costly to run than manual-only apps. Whether that automation is worth it is up to each bowler. Yearly plans start at $39.99.
its a very good app to use in bowling
Developer response
Thanks for the kind words! We’re happy LaneTalk is part of your bowling experience, and appreciate your support.
like the way it shows what the next step is to bring your average up.
Developer response
Thanks for the great feedback! Glad to hear the insights help make it clearer what to focus on next to improve your game.
For rich players only. I loved this app when it had free score tracking, just so I could look back at how I was improving. Now, every feature, even manual scorekeeping, is behind the premium subscription!
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Steven. LaneTalk is built around automated, real-time score tracking and advanced insights, which require significant ongoing infrastructure and maintenance. To keep that platform sustainable long-term, personal game tracking (including manual input) is now part of Pro. Free users can still follow other bowlers.
I love the live tracking when I bowl every where I am.
Developer response
Love hearing that! Live tracking is exactly what we built LaneTalk for. Thanks for using the app and for the great review, it really means a lot to us.
great app, then removed all features and put everything behind a paywall. sucks because really enjoyed using it
Developer response
Thanks for sharing, Hunter. We know it’s frustrating when something you enjoyed changes. Moving personal game tracking and stats to Pro was necessary to keep LaneTalk sustainable long-term, as automated, real-time scoring is costly to operate. We truly appreciate that you enjoyed using the app.
the app was grat when I first got it I even used pro for some time. however im not a professional bowler or a semi pro I just wanted to get better and track my stuff for a Saturday night league. can't do that anymore. since the update you need pro for just about everything. I will say the app does do a good job at keeping stats
Developer response
Thanks for sharing, Jeremy. We understand this change impacts casual league bowlers. Tracking your own games and stats is now part of Pro so we can keep automated, real-time tracking sustainable long-term. Many casual bowlers choose the yearly plan from $39.99, but we know it won’t be the right fit for everyone.
can no longer track any scores without paying. useless app to me now
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. Tracking your own games and stats is now part of Pro so we can keep the platform sustainable long-term, as automated score tracking and processing come with significant ongoing costs. We understand this change won’t be for everyone and appreciate you sharing your perspective.
great app for tournaments but my if you're bowling house doesn't have it it's cool to you can keep your own score i love that fact
Developer response
Thanks for the kind words! Glad you’re enjoying using LaneTalk for tournaments and tracking games on your own. We appreciate your support!
Good for reviewing and travking my progress, specifically spate leaves.
Developer response
Thanks for the review! Happy to hear LaneTalk is helping support your progress on the lanes.
how do I cancel this?
Developer response
You can cancel your subscription either in the app settings or directly through Google Play.
I couldn't do anything without signing up for a paid account.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. New users start with a free trial so they can experience all features before deciding. You can cancel anytime during the trial and continue using the app as a free user without being charged.
Greedy! Have been a Pro subscriber for some time and am disappointed with the new pricing. Family of 6 and they expect me to pay $300/yr or $48/mo ($576/yr) because they moved ALL scoring behind a paywall. Should be free. Saying it's to cover operating costs is insincere at best. These should at least partially be subsidized by the centers themselves and/or app ads. They know they will make lots more if they charge users instead. Will be canceling my sub as soon as we find a viable alternative
Developer response
Sal, this isn’t about greed, or even profit. Automated, real-time scoring requires ongoing infrastructure and support. Centers aren’t charged for the integration, and ads wouldn’t come close to covering these costs. Subscriptions from users who use and value the service are what keep LaneTalk available long-term.
$8 am month. they are out of their every loving mind. I have a half a mind to get my local center to drop your access all together. edit based off of developers communication: without subscription you can no longer even enter your own scores for tracking. admittedly the real-time tracking is a cool feature but your entire app subscription service Ludacris.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing your feedback, William. There’s also a yearly option from $39.99 that offers better value. Bowling centers don’t pay for LaneTalk integration — subscriptions are how bowlers who value automated, real-time tracking help cover the costs of running and maintaining the platform long-term.
app is very easy to use. being able to see the pin leaves i struggle with the most allows me to go to the bowling alley and use the pin spotter and work on them. between the new ball I got recently and this app, ive raised my average 52 pins! 🤘😎🤘
Developer response
That’s awesome to hear, Joshua! Being able to spot patterns and work on specific pin leaves is exactly what we hope LaneTalk helps with. Raising your average by 52 pins is huge - congrats, and keep rolling!
The bait and switch with the pricing changes is outrageous. I like the convenience of this app but this is ridiculous.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Dan. We understand why the change feels frustrating. This wasn’t a bait-and-switch, but a necessary shift to keep LaneTalk sustainable long-term, as automated, real-time tracking has significant ongoing costs.
Must have App for stats
Developer response
Thanks, Matt! Glad to hear LaneTalk has become your go-to for stats. Appreciate the support!
Great app, but It's the way they did things with this app that rubs me the wrong way. They slowly made each feature payable until they made everything payable. I can't even add games to my profile now without being asked to upgrade to pro. But the icing on the cake is making manual scorekeeping payable. The user does most of the work and they have to pay for that? Just bring a notepad and pencil instead. I wouldn't mind paying, but they went about it the wrong way.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Marc. We understand the frustration with how this change was made. We’ve tried to keep as much free as possible for as long as we could, but to keep LaneTalk sustainable, core game tracking had to move to Pro. LaneTalk is built around automated tracking, and we know manual-only alternatives exist and may suit others better.
Was great to track and post recent scores until the recent change. Every feature you need pro now. Deleted account.
Developer response
Thanks for sharing your experience, Brian. We understand this change can feel disappointing as a free user. Personal game tracking and stats are now part of Pro so that those who use and value automated, real-time scoring help cover the ongoing costs required to keep LaneTalk reliable long-term.
I utilized this application primarily for real-time score updates, as I was unable to attend my family's bowling events in person. Regrettably, due to the recent transition to a paid subscription model, I will be uninstalling the application.
Developer response
Hi Heidi. We understand how valuable real-time score updates can be when you can’t be there in person. Live scoring is still free in centers that choose to enable public visibility, but providing real-time scores does come with ongoing costs, which is why it’s now part of Pro - we rely on those who value these features to help support the platform.
This app is great, keeps track of my games, and my stats definitely makes my bowling better.
Developer response
Thanks for the kind words, Dave! We’re really glad the app helps you track your games and turn stats into real improvements on the lanes. That’s exactly what we built LaneTalk for.
was great, greed got the best of them. put everything behind a paywall but pushed the app out as free. other apps are out there that you can use to track games or improve your game. don't use this one when they want to charge $8/mo even their manual-play option is behind the same paywall. only free thing on the app is watching videos that are also on YouTube.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback. This change wasn't about greed, but sustainability. LaneTalk provides automated, real-time score tracking and insights, which is far more costly to operate than manual-only apps. Subscriptions help cover those ongoing costs so we can keep the features available for those who value them.
I can't even log in and now it's taking money for the paid version!!
Developer response
Hi Jackie. We’re sorry for the confusion. LaneTalk can’t charge anything without an active subscription approved through Google Play, and subscriptions can be managed either in the app or directly in Google Play. If you’re having trouble logging in or accessing your app account, please contact [email protected] so we can help.
why do i have to pay just to use the app? once i sign in, i just get smaked in the face with a pro membership and theres no free option!
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Scott. New users start with a 1 month free trial so they can experience all features before deciding. You can cancel anytime during the trial and continue using the app as a free user afterward without being charged.
used to be great but now every feature hidden behind a paywall. useless app unless you pay their subscription.
Developer response
We understand the frustration when features that once were free move behind a subscription. Automated, real-time tracking and stats are costly to operate, and can't be sustained long-term without support from subscribers who value those features. Free users can still follow other bowlers and live scores in participating centers.
great
Developer response
Thanks for the great rating, we're glad you're enjoying LaneTalk!
nothing better than locking everything that used to be free behind a subscription.
Developer response
Thanks for the feedback, Chris. We understand the frustration when features that were previously free move to a subscription. LaneTalk's automated, real-time tracking and stats are expensive to run at scale, and subscriptions are what make it possible to keep those features available long-term.
force pay sucks
Developer response
We hear you, Clint. The change wasn't about forcing payment, but about keeping LaneTalk sustainable long-term. Automated, real-time tracking and stats are costly to run, and subscriptions help ensure the service can continue for those who value it.
Why the heck am I forced to wait for ads to play before I can log in as a current user? will not be renewing over this poor design.
Developer response
Thanks for flagging this, Chris. LaneTalk does not show ads before login. What you're likely seeing is a loading or splash screen that may be taking longer than expected on your device. That's not intended, and we'd be happy to look into it if you'd reach out to [email protected] with more details.
