When it works it's fine. I'm having an issue woth the app where it shuts down anything I'm listening to due to a playback error. Everything is updated but it still stops playing. I'd rather get a refund of the membership than deal with this over and over again.
Great lessons, many options!
Ever since the app was updated to this new prettier version reliability has been in the toilet. Reliability is massively important with an app like this. Meditation sessions contain long silent periods. It's impossible to know with one's eyes closed during a session if a gap in audio is temporary and part of the exercise or the result of yet another crash. The old app worked every single time. This one is whack and will likely lead to me not renewing my subscription.
it crash all the time, not reliable
The application does not work in Android devices. I have barely used it and raised my concern three times to customer service with a refund request of the annual fee. The response was the same script copied and pasted the three times, no empathy, no understanding the situation. Save time and money and do not even try this app.
the app won't let me log in
Am now uninstalling. Been a user of this app for years however the past 6-8 months the app has become very unstable stopping playing content, saying there's a problem, of just hanging. Had circumnavigated by using both the app and the Web site but now the Web site if pushing you to the app for new content. a real shame but if your wanting to look after your mental wellbeing the app is no longer the soothing place it was, but a deeply frustrating, troublesome and annoying place to seek calm.
worked fine on the first day, now every time I click on daily assessment it crashes
the screen on which i signed up on said "the first 14 days are free". I canceled 5 days later since the tracks keep stopping a few minutes in ("oh dear, something is wrong"). But somehow my membership is still active until next year (though canceled) and I was charged full price. I provided a screenshot to customer service but they said i didn't get the trial. No explanation, but at least they "sincerely apologize for the disappointment ". extremely false advertising!
I’ve used Headspace for a long time, but the app has become extremely unreliable. During meditations it frequently stops and shows “Oops, something went wrong,” which completely breaks your focus. This has been happening for months. When I try to get help, I’m pushed to AI that only tells me to uninstall and reinstall the app. That’s not a real solution, especially mid-meditation. Very frustrating, and it’s nearly impossible to reach a real person for support.
Love listening before bed. Helps me to unwind.
They first encourage to install and then take all the details and then tell you you gotta pay Annual fee to use the app. Even before you use there trial they take Card details. Not fair practice.
The meditation session was very relaxing! I needed that break.
Freezes up daily, so I have to clear the cache more or less every time I open it
I've been using the app for years and it has been a great companion to help me focus and ground my mind. Andy has undergone some serious training and is more than qualified to be teaching about meditation and presence and his voice is very soothing which helps a lot. However, for the past months or so, the app stops mid meditation saying there was a problem. My sessions are cut short on an unpredictable basis which basically ruins the experience. I would kindly ask the developers to fix this...
I love headspace have had the subscription for years. now the app seems buggy I like the ai ebb feature but I feel I am spending more time getting the app tho work. same with sleep scapes they don't seem to make it through the night
I'm tired of how buggy the app is. I was so close to canceling before my annual renewal, but a long back and forth with help resolved issues. But now there are new bugs just a few weeks later. it makes anything longer than a few minutes unplayable. This is exhausting.
Someone in my household signed me up for the free trial without my knowledge. I only became aware of it once the trial expired and I was charged for a full year of the service. I contacted them on the same day that the charge was made to let them know what had happened and that I did not want their services and asked if it would be possible to get a full or partial refund. They refused. Overall, this app has had a negative effect on my mental health.
the app kept closing listening to focus music. but they had a fix online to sort out as it was an android issue that was easily fixed
I am looking for a good app for sleep aid, I have terrible sleep. The entire sleep aid part of this app is locked behind a pay wall, I do not have the money to pay for sound. I will be sticking to my CD player, it works better.
Every video Ive listened to sounded like they were explain things to a child- with basic explanations and in the way they spoke- so they werent very good. There were some videos that sounded helpful to listen to, but they must not be available anymore? It said I had to download the app to get access to them, but then they werent in the app either. I feel like everything this app provides is basic info that can be found on the internet for free. Its just not for me.
recently certain videos only not opening getting error and asked to click ok button
It's not a very helpful app. But the worst part of my experience with it has been that they eventually charged me for a whole year even though I only subscribed for a trial which I cancelled before it expired (as I found the app unhelpful). They refuse to offer even a partial refund. Very disappointing service.
I have a new Samsung Galaxy phone. It frequently stops during a meditation and I get an error message
I enjoy the meditations and exercises, but the app seems to have a hard time consistently loading. I've had to restart my phone three or four times so far in order to get the app to load properly. not the most calming experience.
Update: It's good, but the fact that there's no voice to text is hard. I can't keep typing it in on the phone, but Ebb is good. It's the main reason I like Headspace. Just please put a button for voice to text on Ebb. Maybe an option to personalize the home tab.
This app is a lifesaver for managing anxiety and sleep, I've been using it for year. But lately 10min into a sleep cast it crashes and then I wake up to start it again. Kinda defeats the purpose. I tried to change the setting with battery and background data but nothing seems to help.
Deleted it. I like apps that have at least 1% of free stuff. But everything is behind the paywall. I'm not sure why this app is promoted as something free. This is the first time I came across an app that has everything locked. It's unbelievable that apps like this are subscription based for everything considering it's for mental health. Honestly, apps like Finch are better and cute. I don't mind the paywall, but to lock everything completely even for emergency breath exercises are insane.
I've been using the app during lockdown in 2020-21 and it worked okay. However when I started to use it in 2025 I encountered a lot of problems that kills all effects of practice. The video player is awful - it doesn't rotate by itself and let the screen to go to sleep mode... so I have to track every 10 min to wake it up during my yoga practice. Music and meditation can randomly crash the app. In the course "Fear of the Future" lessons 8 and 9 are actually the lesson 4. I have Xiaomi 14t
Sleepcasts are great, but the app just gets worse over time. UI freezes a lot, almost unusable now. they need to spend more on QA.
This app is pure junk. Horrible audio quality, crashes all the time when I try to exit a mediation and then won't load. Then, it loads slow. And how can this app not have background play for videos? + sooo many UX issues with the app... You can't have an app so bad at this level. Do something!
This AP is very effective and does help me very much. Try it today. Priced low too!
Good content but the app tech let's you down. I love the sound scapes but all of them stop after about 15 minutes and show this error 'Oh dear, something's wrong'. I have been using the app occassionally for the past few months and I keep getting this error every single time.
Gor the last few months, the app has been glitchy and often crashes.
Headspace is awesome! so much content being offered to help you on your life's journey. I am grateful for this because I have suffered with chronic pain since I was a child. The information contained is amazing and helpful for you wherever you are at in this moment. I recommend Headspace and encourage everyone to give it a try!
mine
I canceled in October, after I found out services offered through employer health plans are not available to individuals. The app without an employer healthplan is in my personal opionion insufficient rendering it useless to me.
The latest update stops Google fit syncing which now also affects vitality points. seems to also be a bug which causes infinitely refreshing. still an issue and now can connect to Google fit as it's a blocked app
Looks and feels like a game, not a mental health app. I was gonna just buy the annual subscription straight up. So pleased I checked out how the app has changed first. Definitely wasn't like this when it started. Pile of rubbish
it's unfortunate that I have to leave this review after being a subscriber for over 5 years. The app has always been slow and buggy but I've been able to work around that until now. The app has been left in an unusable state for almost 2 months now. Every single session crashes after just a couple of minutes. I've contacted the support team and they say they are aware of the issue but 2 months is too long to not even have basic functionality, especially considering how much they charge.
I have a had an amazing experience with the Ebb feature for reflection, which has helped me make a lot of progress on my personal goals and mental state. I did notice that now there seems to be a 30 minute limit to Ebb chat sessions? I can see why this was instituted, but it feels artificial and I really think that the way it was previously without the time limit was more beneficial as sometimes 30minutes is not enough time to be able to reflect on some things. Can this time limit be removed?
The app has been incredibly buggy lately and troubleshooting does not yield results. Reaching out to the company doesn't seem to help either. For how much I pay, it really is a poor experience in the app, which is disappointing because it used to be great. Considering cancelling at this point because of all the bugs.
crashes every time I use it. waste of money.
have used this for years but the past few months has been genuinely awful and unusable. sleepcasts routinely cutting out after 4 - 10 minutes, and today my 15 minute meditation stopped working leaving me to have to exit my meditation state myself and check, only to be met with an error message. also the way the app vibrates when you click on the sleep section at night is super unnecessary and unexpected.
I used to like the app a lot. But recently many guided meditations fail in the middle with an error. It takes me many minutos to know it has stopped.
The app doesn't let me log in. It does not even show any errors. It just says that "it looks like your account has been associated with a social account".
I have had an amazing time with the app, but it seemingly out of nowhere lost the ability to have not text but voice chat. Being unavailable is sad because I was enjoying the feature while talking with Ebb, and our talks feel less real without it. P.S. Thank you for reading it. We are delighted to hear you have been enjoying the app.
I have been using this app for about a year now and I can honestly say that the meditation courses and the daily medication and the wake ups all have helped my mental health a lot. Highly recommend 6 years later and still highly recommend. has updated a lot but honestly for the better, great app and community.
it's relaxing and good
fun may to meet strangers*
