Lacking
Miss the old Fitbit when it was more social with groups and challenges. Kind of boring now and it was nice to have friends and group folks help keep each other accountable and to be able to support each other.
Cal count
Cal count on app dashboard no longer auto updating when food added. Have to pull down one or more times on the dashboard to see the update cal count. Follow up per feedback. Forced closed, no help. Restart phone, no help. App is up to with newest version. Now must close and reopen app for dashboard to update calories after a food add.
Can’t Turn Off Auto-Recognition
Overall. Its a great app, but even after I turned the off auto-recognition for all exercises, restarted the app, the device, and my phone, my device continually starts tracking my exercises, which means that I can’t look down at any moment and see my heart rate or number of steps. It’s really annoying.
Love the sleep status!
I like how Fitbit shows my quality of sleep! However I don’t always feel that the cardio/fat burning aspect is accurate. Or the steps are accurate. If I’m putting my makeup on, but standing in one place, my Fitbit records the movement as steps. Also tbh, I don’t love the Fitness info about training. Getting a notification that you’re at risk for undertraining is annoying and unhelpful.
Still Rough Edges to App & Devices
Since at least 2012, my wife & I have used Fitbit devices daily. Most recently, my last Fitbit One expired & I picked up an Inspire 3 to replace it in 2024. 1) As I don’t wear it as a watch, but carry it clipped or in my pocket, I put it in “clipped” mode. But even with Auto Wake set to OFF, it still lights up at night on motion (when I don’t want it to). Aside from that, the Inspire 3 has worked well. Sigh! 2) the app shows RECENT suggestions when manually logging an activity. If you watch closely, the recents list is immediately overwritten by some set of defaults! That makes something that used to be extremely helpful pretty much useless! 3) the app no longer keeps my iPhone “awake” while tracking a walk or run. It used to—which was very helpful—but some other app feature tweak must have broken it, alas. Another broken feature! Is there hope for the product (now an “also ran” at Google since 2021) or should I consider another solution? Hmmm… 🤔
