Solid but can improve
The interface is nice and the exercise variety is pretty wide, I’ve had to add a few exercises that aren’t uncommon. I really think a useful feature for the calendar would be to plan exercises in advanced. Like add a template to an upcoming day so you can plan weeks out, maybe get reminders that you scheduled an appointment for the day. If that already exists in the app then I need help figuring it out 😅 but I think it would be beneficial.
Terrible Apple Watch connection
What do you mean I have to start my workout on my watch for I to see my progress there? Literally every other workout app allows you to start it for the phone and then continue seeing your progress on the watch app
Incredible.
The most amazing app for any type of strength training or hypertrophy training. No ads and incredibly useful to measure your strength and volume. I would simply love it if you could trigger workout presets as a reminder on a fixed basis. For example I do one workout on Monday and a second one on Friday, it would be amazing to get a reminder from the app every week on those days. It would me an amazing feature to schedule those workouts rather than going into my reminders app. Overall a legendary app download it for sure!!
Has all of the potential, but none of the consistency
I want to love this app. But I just don’t. It is easy enough to use and build workouts. However, the UI and Sync fail frequently, making tracking your workouts and progress to be nearly impossible. 5 of my last 7 workouts synced and recorded…or so it showed. But when i opened the app the following day, my prior workout was no where to be found. Not a good look or an app that will be around for much longer unless changes are made.
Laggy text entry
Used to work great, tried again recently and finding that nearly every time I enter in the weight or reps for an exercise it lags and I have to do it over.
this is the best workout app i’ve tried im not exaggerating
I have tried many many many many many many many workout apps and this is the only one that works for me. you start by creating templates and when you show up to the gym you just click on a template and say “start workout” it’s that simple. it will count down your rest timers and stuff and keeps track of your previous weights and times you did. it’s five star quality but there is one thing the dev could do to make it even better. instead of a free and pro version, they should sell extra templates. you only get three and it would be nice if i could buy a fourth one for like $5 instead of a monthly pro subscription, but i made do with three! but all in all- try it. it’s super easy and costs nothing to try. it’s helped me!!
Absolute Fkn Garbage
App used to be great. Had everything you needed and made getting the pro version a good investment. Now they’ve just been screwing it up for the past few months. Constant sync issues every workout. Constant glitching, freezing, and clashing. Failing to track workouts. The workout I had yesterday wasn’t recorded at all in my history despite have completed it and refreshed multiple times on my watch. Last week the app even completely deleted my entire workout and all of the values I had for it after I finished the workout. Don’t know what the hell the devs have been doing to make improvements when all it’s done is make things worse. Update: App is completely irredeemable now. Cant even go ten minutes into my work out before I get sync issues with my Apple Watch. I spend probably 15 minutes out of my already 3 hour workout just fixing the mismatch. Only reason I put up with this is for the convenience of having my workout on my watch, but since that’s petty much ruined, I might as well switch to another app.
Love it
Great tracking all around good! Take this to the Y every time I am lifting!!!
Best Workout App
I’ve spent like 100 USD for lifetime access 5 years ago and it was one of the best investments - makes tracking workout really convenient :)
5/5
I love this app. I’ve been using the paid version for a few years now and I could not be happier with a workout app. It keeps it simple and direct, the way these apps should be! I would recommend anyone use it!
Must have
Best app on my phone
Awesome workout tracker
This app has been greatly improved since the last iteration. The workout templates are easy to setup, and workout tracking is a breeze
Very few exercises listed
Intermediate level exercises like body weight, some weighted, and cable or machine workouts are strangely omitted from the core app. You can add them in but if the app is popular then why are they missing?
More Customization
For excises missing in the Strong library. We should be able to include, link or attach a demo photo or a video to the excise added. Excises Missing just to name a few: Overhead Tricep Extension (Cable and Dumbbells) Incline chest fly cable
Unclear why other apps exist
It’s so good and free, why do other apps exist?!?
Excellent
Great app. The best
Best freemium gym log out there
I deeply wish it had graphs built in, but I understand you gotta make that bag somewhere. Weird that they allow you to export your workouts as a .cvf so you could just graph it yourself. With a PPL split, the three template limit is sufficient. On the whole, the free version is great! But definitely has some legitimate limitations, with “premium” paywalled features.
PLEASE BIGGER "check" boxes!!!
I LOVE the simplicity of the app and its very easy to use but MY BIG JUICE HEAD GYM GOING THUMBS CAN NOT WITH THE TINY CHECK BOX "✅" please make it bigger... thank you❤️👌🫂💪🏼
Excellent App
I have tried so many different ways to track my strength training exercises in an efficient way. I finally found this app. It is more than I can ask for.
Great tracker
Missing a few workouts but overall a great and better app for fitness tracking compared to FitBod
Couldn’t ask for a better app
Very simple nothing more nothing less than I need very easy to navigate exactly what I needed and was looking for and have been using for like 2 years cause I can never remember what I was doing last week so I leave notes of what weight I was doing last week or reminders to go up weight very nice
Good Workout Tracker
It works well to track exercises during workouts at the gym. Makes it easy to track progression through rep count and weight ranges.
Please add muscle group volume tracking
Solid lift tracker app. Wish it had a few morw exercises or could be updates by the userbase but you can add your own pretty easily. It would be 5 stars if they added something to track weekly sets/volume by muscle group!! Pleaseeee add that feature it would make it so much better!!
Okay
Decent at tracking workouts that exist. Very limited options to create custom exercises. And you cannot edit or delete them? What is this buffoonery?
Love it
Used it for over 250 workouts now. Didn’t do the pro version till after 100 workouts and it’s honestly my favorite app. I love that I can easily add any exercises into my plan that aren’t on the app. *********************************** One thing I’d like, is if there was a search feature under “history” so I could find my past workouts quicker and be able to compare notes
Great App for Workout Tracking
Really love this app and i use it daily! Best and easy way to track your workouts and progress
Good but laggy
Freezes for a second or two every time I open it to put in my weight and reps
Just what I needed!
Totally customizable and great support when I had questions!
Apple Watch Sync occasionally overwrites phone version of workout with earlier one, deleting data
I was in the middle of a deadlift in a synced workout and checked my watch app mid-way. The action of opening Strong on my watch triggered a sync in which the outdated watch data overwrote the data on my phone, forcing me to remember and re-enter the data on my phone.
Does this not sync to Strava… or any other app?
Seems to lack 3rd party connections. None of my workouts show up elsewhere. The app itself is good. But the lack of 3rd party connections is troubling… I guess I’ll be looking for something else. It connects to apple health but apple health is a joke so, yeah this app itself would be great if the work outs showed up on the place where I look at all my workouts lol. I’ll update this review if they fix this…
Bug
Tapping of excersixe on watch doesn’t show complettion on the iPhone app.
Watch integration problems
The watch integration has a mind of its own and will not shut down.
What I’ve been looking for!
Genuinely, cannot tell you how many worthless annoying expensive apps I’ve cycled through to find this one. One time payment, forever tracking, customizable templates, exercises, tracking, warmup calculation, rest timer. If you know how to train and just want a killer logbook, this is your app!
Needed more stuff
plus add rest days asw it will help me keep track of them easier
Love it!
Simple but effective! I have stayed efficient and organized in all my workouts and this app makes the gym fun!
Good app, but greedy
The app itself is good, with lots of workouts to pick. It even lets you set templates… for a price of course. Yet another subscription service for a workout app of all things. No thanks, I already have a million monthly subscriptions, I’m not paying you monthly for a glorified notes app
After 1200 workouts logged…
I do mainly bodybuilding/strength workouts, and this is by far the best workout tracking app ever.
Ai puts STRONG to rest
I’ve wrestled with the thought of buying Strong’s monthly or one time subscription. I realized I could have Ai write me an app with all the same features and more custom to my needs and it does it for free. Once people realize this, Strong will have to get rid of fees or lose customers. It’s not IF but more so WHEN.
Awesome
I don’t ever leave reviews but this app is just that good. Super easy user interface, no ads (at least not for me) and gives a ton of stats. I’ve been using it for right at a month (free version) and it hasn’t lacked in any categories.
Sexism embedded in graphic design
Why are all of your icons depicting different weightlifting exercises drawn as men? There is a minority of icons that are depicting a feminine body and the icons with this body type significantly skew toward depicting ab exercises and the cable/band versions of exercises. Do better.
Best in class
Feb. 2026 update: Had to re-iterate, this is THE BEST workout app on the App Store. Been a paid customer for years, best workout app on the App Store, by far. Seriously... the developers really care about the user experience, and they keep making Strong better with every update... Keep up the good work!
Nearly Perfect: Just Update Duration Tracking
This is exactly what I was looking for in a workout tracker: clean, intuitive, and fast. Logging workouts is simple, and the UI stays out of the way. Two features would make this app truly complete: 1) Duration-based exercises don’t have a built-in countdown timer. Since rest timers already exist, adding an in-workout duration timer would eliminate the need to switch to another app or device. 2) There’s no preset for exercises that combine weight and time (e.g., farmer carries). Currently, you have to create awkward workarounds like logging them as reps instead of seconds. A “weighted duration” option would solve this cleanly. These are small but meaningful improvements that would make the app feel fully polished and self-contained. Otherwise, excellent experience. The simplicity and usability are exactly right. Looking forward to the continued development and expansion of the exercise library.
Simple and effective
I’ve been using Strong for Three years and I can’t really complain! I love being able to have different folders for workout sessions. It allows me to set my week split based on whatever my goals are at the time. Upgrading to pro is 100% worth it if you plan on making many templates. There is a large list of exercises preconfigured with tutorials on how to do them, and anything that isn’t listed you can add and say what type of workout it is. I love the graphs so that I can track any stats that I want. The apple watch tracking has gotten better over the years, and now is pretty reliable. People in the gym always ask me what app I use to track, and i’m quick to brag on Strong. I would definitely recommend it to anyone. For beginners, they even have preset workouts.
Wow just wow
I never pay attention to reviews or write any but omg this app changed my life as far as fitness. It was always hard to stay consistent and I’ve been trying for years but this app made tracking my workouts so easily that it became second nature and now I look forward to looking at my progress. 1000/10
Was great until timer was changed
Prior to a recent update, the timer was a simple value, and able to updated in it’s own window for each exercise. Now that it’s been added to editable values right underneath each set, it has caused many glitched and requires carefully not fat fingering it when editing rep values. It’s a single change that’s caused many headaches. I can no longer rate 5 stars when changes like this are implemented for (now) over a year and no care to revert or improve it.
Needs to sync with garmin connect
Great so super easy to use love the rest timers love ability to create exercises. But… needs to sum with garmin connect please!! That’s would make this perfect.
Love it. Please add one thing.
Love the app. Please add the ability to get the total weight lifted DURING a workout. This will make it easier to compare your current total weight to previous workouts.
Heavier than Hevy
Very much adore this app. It does basically everything I want, sometimes more than similar competing apps, and it actually looks better at it. The only feature sorely missing is Live Activities/ Dynamic Island support to jump back quickly during workouts. The app has notifications with cool sounds that I even receive on my watch, but I’m constantly jumping to other apps on my phone while resting and a Live Activity would make it easier to get back to work. I make the notification static but it’s just in the way. Keep up the Strong work.
Apple Watch Sync Problems
Gave it a 2nd star bc of my long history with the app to this point. But I can’t ignore the Apple Watch pairing difficulties anymore. Just when I think I figure it out, it becomes just an even bigger pain. At this point it affects my workouts as well as I just sit there attempting to re-pair half the time at the gym. Everything else is solid, hence why I’ve spent years using it. But my God, the Apple Watch pairing situation is just jarring and I can’t anymore
