The app was working fine until yesterday. Now the broadcasts won't load.
this app is absolutely trash!! I miss watching my Cubs but 20 dollars a month is not worth a heart attack.
Growing up with WGN, I hate that I now have to pay to watch the Cubbies. Updated review: no longer have issues with disconnect or crashing, but it's 2025, how do you guys still not have an app for GoogleTV/Chromecast.... The only steaming app I have that I still have to cast from my phone to my Googletv dongle.

Chromecast functionality is dismally poor. won't stay connected. just introduce a Google TV app already!
good luck canceling the marquee Sports Network after their Direct subscription website tells you how easy it is.

Oh my God you guys actually did it. You finally brought Chromecast support. But wow, it's horrible and disconnects all the time. Where is the Google TV app? how have you not released this yet?

finally a Chromecast button is on the app but it quits playing all the time. Junk.
Can't get customer service to answer doesn't matter what time you call they are not open. want to cancel subscription and can't find a way yo do it. NOT AT ALL HAPPY!!!!
Too many issues with streaming and casting. Near useless at times.
I already have a profile, but it's forcing me to create a new one up on opening app. I subscribed thru the app with my existing email address and when prompted to continue with existing profile from connected email address, it generates an error and returns to create new profile request.
Love the changes.I like that you can start from the beginning.I can watch them on my time and 20 bucks a month.You can't beat that

The Samsung Smart TV app I'm not particularly happy with now. Every time I exit it lately, and come back, I get player error, and I have to sign out and sign back in. This is a HUGE PAIN!! 5-27-25 It's doing it again on Samsung Smart TV!!!!
This app is horrible. Casting barely works and it you want to watch game off wifi? Pff, good luck. 5G AT&T signal. Every other streaming app I have works just fine. Waste of money.
This app is terrible. Part of the time, the audio is ahead of the video, and part of the time, the audio is behind, leading to a miserable experience all of the time. I can't believe I'm paying for this.
Chromecast has some real troubles. seems like when the app goes to the background it breaks the cast connection. not sure what sdk is being used or how it's configured to work with android Chromecast but something is broken. As a frustrated cubs fan, I'll gladly update the score when it's fixed but there has been no updates since April. I do have the skill set to help fix the issue as well. Assuming it's not some bug in the third party sdk itself.
App times out of Chromecast every time you leave the app on your phone. I pay more than $20 per month for this? Fix this, please. Edit: I also find myself battling the app because the sound doesn't match up with the action on the screen.
Very expensive and no TV app
Constantly closes the app on its own. I only get 5 to 10 minutes before it closes and then it takes me another 2 to 3 minutes to get it to work again.
I pay to watch every cub game on Marquee, but they show cub games on different networks and I'm not able to watch them. What a scam!!!
The streaming function seems to crash frequently. I've given up on most games because it won't work for more than 2 minutes at a time. Pretty wild they charge the rates they do for such a terrible service.
I would give this app zero stars if I could. If you use your phone to do ANYTHING else or let it go to sleep it stops casting. How else am I supposed to watch Cubs games?!
Absolutely horrendous app. Not available on Google TV and the casting function is so bad it's unusable. A 4 billion dollar organization run by one of the wealthiest families on the planet asking us to pay $20 a month for THIS is extremely insulting.

Somehow is worse this year. Casting from your phone means you have to stop it from going to sleep or the app stops streaming. Tried to cast from my computer instead but the picture is blurry on the TV (I have fiber Internet and it looks fine on the pc) and the sound will randomly blip or just crash altogether. please just let me cast and then close my phone or for the love of God make a native app for the TV.
Casting frequently stops if you don't keep the app active on your screen (can't use phone for anything else). Enabling "allow background usage" does not help. Phone is Pixel 9 Pro. Also, a LG TV app would be appreciated.
App doesn't work half the time. Not sure why we are paying for something that doesn't let us watch outside of our house not 5 miles away. We will be canceling after this month.
Chromecasting just never works which means that I can't watch the service that I pay $20 a month for on the TV
sound remains on in background when App is closed. no other App on my Android device does this. Even when another app is opened, Marquee sound continues. I have to restart Amazon Firestick everytime to stop Marquee sound.

speaking as a software engineer: in my more than ten years of building apps and websites I have never seen such a poorly crafted dumpster fire of an APK. your "Ready to Cast" screen (with DEBUG in the title) only works when the phone is unlocked and the current app in focus is THIS APP... you need to learn some basics about the Android app lifecycle. this is really easy stuff. I'm contemplating stooping to getting a job at your podunk outfit just to fix this nonsense (you wish)... extend Tucker

Awful app. do better cubs
1) They finally added picture-in-picture! But, it only seems to work properly some of the time. Often there is a big menu(?) on the top 2/3rds. 2) Please offer a native app for Google TV. Streaming from the phone to the device leads to buffering. Not having the above mentioned features for an app that requires a $20 subscription is disappointing to say the least. Tickets at Wrigley are ridiculous. Spend some of your profits on improving your app for us that have been priced out. Do better Cubs.
The fact that they do not have an app for the Chromecast w/ Google TV or for the Google TV Streamer is a shame. They have one for the Fire Stick. Shame on Marquee.
Horrible. Will be casting, and it just drops and turns off. No problems casting any other streaming service so it is a problem with Marquee. Often can't rewind during a game and if you attempt to pause when you restart it jumps to live vs where you paused it. I hate this app with a passion. It has made me not want to watch my beloved Cubs.

The casting quality is dismal at best. Although we can cast to a Chrimecast device now, it buffers, freezes, and refreshes constantly. we are unable to watch even 5 minutes uninterrupted.
terrible worst service across the board. I have a paid subscription and yet I can't watch the games or use the app to its bare minimum because it tells me I'm not subscribed. I'm currently going on day 2 of this issue. oh and customer support!!! available 1 hr before the game 🤣 I'm currently going on 20 minutes of waiting for a CSR to assist me on the phone.
They don't have an android tv app nor allow you to cast video from an android phone like every other basic video app allows. It's really barebones and needs a giant upgrade. Currently the only way to cast from my phone is to keep the phone screen alive on the app. Anything else makes it disconnect and displays a weird message on the TV.
The app doesn't work on my pixel tablet. Once I open the app the screen glitches. I've tried uninstalling and starting over - nothing. I would say it needs some update.
This app could be so much better. Especially with a $20/month subscription. You can't cast to a Chromecast & no Google TV app so about the only way you can get the game on your TV for a Google based system is to use a browser on the TV. Need to add to this review that the app won't run on a pixel tablet. If I had any other way to watch Cubs games, I would not have this app or the subscription.
