this has become a really useless app. If it is not covered by espn, it gets second billing. example... now that espn doesn't have rights to the big ten, it acts as if it doesn't matter. another prime example is mens march madness terrible coverage!!!!
The only notifications I have setup are final scores. After the update I get updates for events and things I'm not interested in.
take forever to load compared to other apps
Absolute garbage. Trying to rewind or fast forward is a joke; you get two speeds, snail’s pace to lightning fast. Then it constantly locks up and crashes. You would think a company like Disney, with all their $$, could make a sports app that functions worth a damn. You would be wrong.

Disaster for me
About two months ago the ESPN app decided to ignore the notifications I choose to receive and now notifies me of all breaking news even though that toggle switch is off.
Frequently loads very slow or not at all. Refuses to learn preferences, despite the fact that I've selected my preferences several times. Buries scores or news to massive games/events. Why would I want to see the score of a regular season basketball game over an NFL playoff game? It's terrible and has been terrible for years.
Won't link my MLB.tv account. I can stream games on the MLB App, but not on ESPN, the "home" of MLB.tv. It says "CLICK HERE" so I click there and it goes to my Account Manager page, ok? What now? I click on the stupid MLB.tv logo and it wants me to sign up or upgrade, there's no way to link it or activate it, it just asks me for more money. I'm logged into MLB, can stream there, switch to ESPN, asks me to unlock access but the instructions are circular, it just goes in a loop back to the start.

I don't have a command of the English language necessary to articulate how bad this app is. the search function is useless. results show unrelated results at the top no matter what. the video player is glitchy and inconsistent. the home page forces you to see irrelevant sports most of the time with no settings to remove sports you aren't interested in. the casting function to any type of device is terrible and loses connection. if espn didn't have a monopoly on this content I would not download.
Lags terribly and closes automatically midgame. Not worth price.
I just wanted MLB to watch Detroit Tigers games, but ESPN forces you to pay for ESPN Unlimited too. No option to buy MLB by itself— you have to pay ~$60 upfront and then cancel ESPN later. That’s misleading and shouldn’t be allowed. Though you don't need ESPN unlimited to have and watch MLB except the initial purchase at double the price? C'mon man. So instead I'll go without.
Cannot unsubscribe from notifications for "breaking news" ESPN articles. I just need scores not to be bombarded with random articles that ESPN really wants me to read. Never using this app again.

Terrible app. Buffers all the time and crashes. The ONLY time the app works is when they play ADDS. Dont even try to use the app for the phone. absolutely terrible
