this app is absolute garbage. Crashes constantly, live events don't stream, "unable to play" errors constantly during the masters broadcast. For a mulit billion dollar company you'd think they'd build an app that can handle traffic during big events.

Why have the ability to customize alerts if you're just gonna alert me to everything regardless of my settings? I hate college sports and golf yet my phone blows up with alerts for them even when I have them off.
Standings page for all leagues is buggy, won't scroll on demand. Provider login screen does not work, will not allow to select cable provider so login prompt will load.
I am wondering what the issue is with my app? when I go into standings for the NBA. it won't scroll? is this a current problem and how can I fix it? ty
Everything has ALWAYS been slow. no matter what year it is. It'll still be a slow app in 2030! Learn to streamline your app please.

Pretty poor at updates on scores in real time. ESPN rather cover NFL year round, than cover any other sport. I know the world is holding its breathe on who goes to mini camp, ota's and next season predictions. App has issues loading consistently without having to completely log out and back in.
terrible app. terrible user experience. I had the mlb package in the past, now I have to go to espn. I was able watch the games in the corner while i did other things on my phone with mlb, but now I can't minimize the window. it's either watch the game or not. Done looking at a mlb game summary? back button brings you to some other sport page, may not be even mlb relevant. This sucks! not that writing about it will do anything, where else can I go? yeah Capitalism?
Separate ESPN+. App is terribly outdated.
in the scores tab, if I favorite a league or tournament it should be able to see recent games after I scroll past my favorite soccer teams. the first thing I see after my favorite teams should not be MLB or WNBA scores when I dont even follow that. very annoying and its why I choose a different app.

This app is barely functional. Half the time it will say "no content available" when browsing categories. If I can actually get to the content I want to watch, there is a very high chance it will say I don't have access to the content (even though I paid for it). If I can get past that glitch, the stream will freeze constantly and I have to exit the app (and sometimes restart my phone). It will start the stream from the beginning when I reopen it and make me watch the ads again. Trash.

Good for checking on things, nothing else. video ads EVERY. SINGLE. HIGHLIGHT. Even when you have ESPN+. the video player is also trash, and not at all optimized. Infinite buffer anytime you try and choose a point in a video to go to, so make sure you literally never grt busy or called away from your phone mid watch. Scores are usually accurate to 30 or so seconds of an update in game, so good way to be the first to know, even before anyone outside the venue.
push alerts will take you to that specific article or replay 10-20% of the time. the 2nd star is just for the ability to stream off market games i guess.
Having Stephen Smith and Pat McAfee jammed down my throat at every turn is repulsive. In my mind's eye, I see an ESPN app where we can filter sports personalities on top of the sports and teams we favor. By catering to the lowest common denominator, you've made a mockery of your once-great product.

Pretty much everything everyone else said that was bad about the app is true. Espn used to be a great app then like most good things must come to an end..... Id give .5 star if I could.

the app barely works. I tried to watch one of these shows live and it doesn't work. all it does is sit there on a single frame and does nothing. I can watch clips but it doesn't work for the live shows and that's the only reason why I was subscribing to ESPN with the bundle.
Won't even work now. Tried reinstalling 3 times, still not working. ESPN use to be great, now this app won't even work. Wish I could give negative stars.

I have used this app to get Game Start notifications for two teams (one baseball, one NFL). It used to be janky with a clumsy UI and a lot of poorly placed ads, but did the very limited job I needed. Recently though, a week into the MLB season, it's only giving me 50% of the notifications I want, but inundating me in 'breaking news!'-looking notifications for college basketball* (*they were so poorly written I didn't work that out until the fifth one). Anyway, trash app, switch to The Score.
